Canine Distemper Virus Rapid Test

Distemper is a severe viral disease that can cause persistent coughing and diarrhea in both puppies and adult dogs. In some cases, it can lead to life-threatening pneumonia or paralysis. The virus spreads through sneezing and coughing from infected dogs, as well as direct contact with urine, blood, or saliva. It may also be transmitted by sharing water or food bowls.

Symptoms of Canine Distemper:

  1. Early Symptoms

    • Fever, lethargy

    • Nasal discharge, watery eyes

    • Sneezing, coughing

    • Loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea

  1. Advanced Symptoms

    • Breathing difficulties, pneumonia

  1. Neurological Symptoms (in severe cases)

    • Muscle twitching, seizures

Canine Distemper Virus Rapid Test Kit Contents:

Test Procedure

Please read the Instructions for Use carefully before performing the test! Before starting, allow the test device and the unopened reagent to reach room temperature (15–30 °C).

  1. Collect the dog’s eye or nasal discharge sample with the swab, then open the sample collection tube. Insert the swab into the tube containing the reagent solution and swirl it for at least 10 seconds.

  2. While doing so, press the swab head against the inner wall of the tube at least five times to release the sample fully. Then remove the swab and close the tube.

  3. Place the test cassette on a flat surface. Add 3 drops of the diluted sample into the sample well of the test device.

  4. Wait for the colored lines to appear. Read the result after 10 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 30 minutes, as it will be invalid.
