About the Sperm Concentration Rapid Test

This rapid test provides a qualitative in vitro estimation of sperm concentration in human semen, serving as a supplementary tool in diagnosing fertility issues or planning a pregnancy.
A sperm concentration within the normal fertile range—as defined by the WHO as 15 million/mL or above—indicates healthy fertility. Lower concentrations may suggest subfertility or infertility. This at-home fertility screening offers a private and convenient option.

Test Procedure

1. Read the instruction manual carefully.

2. Remove a test cassette from its foil pouch and place it on a flat surface.

3. Use the provided pipette to transfer one drop of semen into well “A.”

4. After absorption, add three drops of blue color reagent into well “A” and wait 1–2 minutes for absorption.

5. Add two drops of transparent wash solution into the same well and wait another 1–2 minutes.

6. Immediately interpret the result by comparing the color in well “A” to the reference color in well “B,” using the procedure card provided.

Result Interpretation

• Normal: Well “A” is as dark or darker than reference well “B.” Indicates sperm concentration ≥ 15 million/mL, suggesting a high probability of fertility (assuming other conditions for conception are met).

• Abnormal (Low Concentration): Well “A” is lighter than well “B.” Indicates sperm concentration < 15 million/mL—possible oligospermia. Further medical evaluation is recommended.

• Note: If well “A” remains unchanged, this may indicate severe oligospermia or azoospermia (≤ 5 million/mL). If the result is unclear or seems unreliable, repeat the test using the second cassette after 6 days of abstinence. If that result is also abnormal, consult a physician.
